Need help with changing/editing a website! I am getting frustrated :(?

I am trying to edit an organization's website that is under a college server. The website has this type of url: organization.ucsd.edu

the previous webmaster just gave me this: host/server name, username and password

I cant contact him because he is out of the country :\

I just want to embed a flash object %26quot;a wix website%26quot; (wix.com) on the homepage, I have the code that I need to copy paste already. I have Dreamweaver CS4, but I dont know what to do next with the information I was given by the previous webmaster :(

I would really appreciate it if anybody can help me here or direct me to a more appropriate place for someone to help me with this.Need help with changing/editing a website! I am getting frustrated :(?Um... Did you log into the server with the given username and password account?

It's either a telnet/SSH login or an FTP login.

Dreamweaver isn't going to do anything for you. You need to go where the code is (on the server) and modify it.

You can download it and modify it on your local machine and then reload it back up, but ultimately you'll need to get onto the college server, and that's what he gave you.

I think if I were the owner of the site, I'd be glad that a person who doesn't know about FTP can't add a flash element to my page. It concerns me more that the web page will be replaced by Flash, which is rapidly following out of favor among web developers for full-page design. Who knows what else might get messed up?
