I've done work for the same person for years and am probably WAY undercharging, but I no longer know since I don't know other contractors.What's a good hourly rate to charge for making textual changes to a website? If its text content only, I would charge min $25 per hour even for a friend, thats pretty low, if its more like picture edits and any programming or hand coding I'd start at $45 hr. You can bid by the project or month too knowing how long it will take you.

Professionals don't make text changes. They setup the site with a server side scripting program like php or asp so that the clients can make the changes.

The way DNS servers operate (simplified version here), when you type a URL into your browser, it asks the closest DNS server for the IP address. If that DNS server doesn't know, it asks its neighbor for that information, and if that one doesn't know it asks its neighbor, and so on until eventually a DNS server has the correct IP address. Then it passes that information back down to you, and your browser establishes the HTTP connection with the IP address it recieved from the DNS server.



ARP poisoning involves feeding a DNS server at some point along that chain with a false URL/IP association. Needless to say, hacking a DNS server is no easy feat, and the steps involved are not only illegal (and thus, I will not explain) but highly complicated.



If you're trying to pull a simple prank on your friend, an easier one would be to edit the autocorrect feature in his word processor to change the word %26quot;the%26quot; to %26quot;butthead%26quot; or something. That has the same laugh factor, and doesn't involve breaking any laws.

Do you have access to their router? If so, you can enter a routing script so that their computer (identified by the private IP address assigned on the router) is sent to a specific web site; however, this would happen every time.

For example, my home, wireless wi-fi router is open, anybody can get on; however, anybody but my private ip address is sent to a specific website.

id say u need to do a scan of your computer to see if u have any virus's first. you can download a free programme from the net...but you should have one. norton or something...if its not that maybe its a dodgy connection, unplug all the unessecary components like webcam, usb cables etc.....check all you connections are in correctly. or maybe one of your device's is conflicting with another. for example if your wireless, your dongle could be conflicting with a tv card or something.....hope this helps....To check if any of your devices are conflicting right click my computer, click on manage then device manager....if anything is wrong, ull notice little signs next to the device in question..good luck
