How does a website IP address change? The IP for my website changed without my knowledge?

Unless you have a permanent IP address, and that is rare, your %26quot;lease%26quot; expired. Now, I'm not talking about what you pay your ISP. I'm talking about an IP lease. When you connect to the ISP, it issues you a lease IP address. Sometimes it is a long lease and sometimes not. By sharing these leases, the ISP can maximize their available connections. So, you probably have a dynamic IP address and your lease ran out.
