Is it true that changing your sleeping pattern slows down your metabolism?

I heard somewhere on a website that changing your sleeping pattern slows down your metabolism. I stay up until around 8am, then fall asleep and wake up around 3 or 4 pm. It's only been like this for the past few weeks. I used to sleep from around 11pm until 6-6:30am. So, is it true? I don't want that to happen. :/Is it true that changing your sleeping pattern slows down your metabolism? It can and does to some individuals. You should be getting a minimum of 7 hours solid a night, and do it at night if possible. This is the normal time for our bodies to sleep and recharge, so to speak.

So try to get 7-8 hours a night, drink plenty of water, excersise regularly and eat a healthy diet and your metabolism will increase, make sure your doing cardio a minimum of 30 mins a day three days a week as well, that increases metabolism as well.

it is bad to change your sleeping pattern. it throws off your body since your going to bed in the day time and waking up at night. it is best to workout early in the morning when your body is well rested. your body is trigured to wake up by the sun and when you go to bed your body has no time to wake you up and get you energized and motivated to workout

hah... gotta love summer... ne way, ne time u have a question like this just think to urself: does my body have a reason to do this. your body is a very well built machine. If you suddenly eat less, ur metabolism will slow to keep u alive. If u need oxygen, you will yawn. Now, if you change sleeping habits, y would ur metabolism change? Now... getting MORE or LESS sleep is a different story. In that case, there are many other factors. However, if you sleep at a different time, as long as you sleep the same amount, you should be fine. Also, as long as you are consistantly sleeping at the same hours you should be fine. If, one day, you do this and the other day you don't. That in my opinion will mess you up the most. As long as you are consistant, it's almost like you're living in another time zone. Your metabolism will be fine.
